The Whigs Tour and Share Single "Dying"

Athens, GA trio THE WHIGS are very excited to announce a massive tour that will include a headlining run and opening slots with Kings of Leon, The Hold Steady and The Black Keys. Beginning June 4th at Mountain Jam in Hunter, NY, these 3-months of dates come in support of the band’s latest album, IN THE DARK, which saw the band perform on the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (http://vimeo.com/11299339). In addition, the band will embark on a USO tour to Germany and the UK from today, May 17th – May 25th. The week-long tour will consist of five shows for troops and military families and a visit to the USO Warrior Center at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

THE WHIGS are pleased to share new song, “DYING,” with fans at

The song Esquire Magazine hails as one of “50 Songs Every Man Should Be Listening To,” adds a dark depth and introspective emotional oomph to the band’s overall anthemic power. A vigor Newsday praises for “blending melodies from 70’s Rolling Stones and 80’s Replacements with 90’s grunge underpinnings to build a whole new rock animal.”

In The Dark is the follow up to the band’s two critically acclaimed albums – Give ‘Em All A Big Fat Lip and Mission Control – which earned them universal praise as one of America’s finest young rock ‘n’ roll bands.
