Sire/Action Theory Records artists The Maine have announced the release of their new album Black & White. Their major label debut is the follow-up to Cant Stop, Wont Stop, the bands acclaimed first album, which came out on Fearless Records in 2008. The Howard Benson-produced album will hit stores on July 13, 2010.
Black & White is a departure for the band. “We’re trying to go for more of a raw feel – really just a free, loose record,” explains front man John O’Callahan. Inspired by the classic sounds of American rock-n-roll, the album is a collection of songs with universal, relatable themes that retain the sense of youthfulness and fun that is distinctly The Maine.
The Tempe, Arizona quintet have just released a new track called “Growing Up” from the forthcoming record. Check out a teaser of the song below and head over to to grab the song today along with the previously released “Inside of You.” Stay tuned for their official single “Right Girl” coming soon.
The band is set to head out on their first ever headlining tour, “An Evening With The Maine,” sponsored by Alternative Press, on July 7th in support of Black & White.
