In anticipation of the April 27th release of their Raw Power Deluxe Edition package, Iggy and the Stooges have released a clip taken from the documentary Search and Destroy: Iggy and the Stooges’ Raw Power. The clip talks about the creative process behind the classic track “Penetration.” Iggy recalls hearing the iconic riff for the first time: “He [James] played me the riff to penetration…..and from that riff I was building fugues.” Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr shares his recollection of hearing the song for the first time: “As a guitar riff it’s brilliant, and the vocal is just mysterious, sort of like a message from an alluring underworld.”
