Watch this cool new video for “When I’m Gone” from Omaha, Nebraska’s Capgun Coup. The song is off their sophomore album Maudlin, which was released by Team Love in November. Directed by Tyler Chickinelli, the video – made up entirely of photos – captures the spirit of the invigorating, at times surf-punky, young Midwestern band. Maudlin was mainly written in Omaha’s legendary Hotel Frank, a refuge for young artists and musicians since the ’80s. The whip-smart, sarcasm-laced album comments on the state of contemporary life, from the futility of sadness, self-pity, and ennui to economic and social inequities and beyond. Pure punk spirit.
