This week’s unsigned artist is Love Automatic. Comprised of Brent Carpentier (vocals), Mike Glita (bass/vocals), Nick Goncalves (guitar/programming), and Ross Dillon (drums); Love Automatic is the result of the merger of two local New Jersey bands.
Shortly after forming in early 2008, the quartet released their first EP Dance Floor Disaster free to listeners online. Since it’s posting, the release has exceeded 20,000 downloads. In addition to their EP, the guys took to the streets spreading their infectious and uniquely eclectic mix of rock, electronica, and hip-hop beats to the Tri-State working to build a dedicated fan base.
Vocalist Brent Carpentier describes his band by saying “To me, our music is a combination of everything we love about music. We take our favorite aspects from all of the music we love and fuse them together to make an original sound that is somehow familiar and identifiable. We want everyone to be able to listen to us or see us, and walk away with something that they enjoyed.” This sentiment is evident in their sound.
The new four demo songs on their MySpace page feature feel-good dance-rock melodies. From the high-energy lovesick dance jams, “Fall For You’ and “Just You Wait,” to the exhilarating, pulsating beats of the suspicious “Feel It,” each song delivers an awesomely good time with its vibrant and upbeat grooves. If you’re into Fall Out Boy, The White Tie Affair, and Maroon 5 , you are sure to like Love Automatic.
The band is currently writing their album to be released sometime this year. If you’re in the New Brunswick area this Friday, January 8th go see the band at the Court Tavern. For more information check out the band on MySpace!
