Michigan emo pop rockers, This Twilight City, are one band that is sure to catch your ear.
Originally forming under the name, Anchors For Reality, the trio released their debut album Honesty in 2006. Within the year, the band played over 300 shows building up a legion of fans. With a change of direction and shift in sound, they renamed themselves as This Twilight City in late 2008.
This month brings the band’s new highly anticipated sophomore release Just Breathe. Fans can preview the whole album and get a four song download FREE on PureVolume. Front-man Alex Lee said, “We feel it’s a better way for us to connect with the fans. The reaction for the free download has been impressive and it is encouraging for us as we enter the new year.”
With the comingle of super-charged rock melodies and cathartic, heartfelt lyrics, This Twilight City has crafted an album of superb musical enjoyment. You can hear the multitude of versatility that flows from track to track. Some of my favorites include the rocking drum and guitar heavy “Burn Alive ,” the screamo rock of “Shut Your Mouth (For Closure)” and the lovelorn rock ballad “Starlite Scarlet”
