The Airborne Toxic Event – Webster Hall NYC 10/16/09

One word: Impressive. The was truly an actual band.   This especially apparent at such an intimate venue.
Every member played at least one instrument, everybody sang.   They sounded great & professional & really showed their versatility.   The guys and lone chick went beyond the typical guitar, base, drums, keyboard.   There was a viola, a cello, an upright piano, oh my!   Performed were covers of The Smiths, Bruce, the late Jim Carroll, and most of the tracks off their own self titled album, The Airborne Toxic Event.
I must admit, the only song I knew (and still do, at least by title) was “Sometime Around Midnight”.   But I like that song & the show was at Webster Hall, so I was game.   The trip was well worth it!   See them if you get the chance.

Check out a clip of Airborne Toxic Event performing “Gasoline” from that night below:

  1. I bought Airborne Toxic Event’s self titled album earlier this year and the songs alone got me, seeing them live was amazing, they are an extremely talented band and one to watch. You MUST see this band live. Also I just heard this morning on Sirius XM that ATE will be on Alt Nation Friday morning at 10am doing a few acquistic sets.

  3. I saw this show on the 15th – it blew me away. I only became acquainted with the band’s CD two weeks prior to the concert. The concert sealed the deal – I’m a fan. I wrote about the whole show in my blog. The 2 other bands were great as well.
