With his roots at the Jersey shore, it’s no surprise that you can feel a laid-back beach vibe to Qunicy Mumford’s mellow tunes. Taking influences from artists like Jack Johnson, Grateful Dead, John Mayer, Sublime, Otis Redding, and Bob Marley, Mumford has crafted his own blend of folksy funk with subtle reggae and jazz undertones that are relaxing and pleasing to the ear.
With his unique styling and soothing vocals it’s no wonder at such a young age he has already garnered a loyal following and several honors. In 2008, he released his first full-length album to great acclaim, earning him three Asbury Music Awards nominations, a coveted place in WBJB 90.5 The Night’s Emerging Artists Concert Series, the 11th spot on 90.5 The Night’s “Top 90 Albums Released in 2008” and entry at 103 on the “Top 200 Songs on Non-Commercial Triple A Radio” chart, from where it’s been steadily climbing ever since.
Mumford is releasing his sophomore album this month. Listen to his music below and for more information check out his official website, Facebook, Twitter, and Bandcamp pages. Get his music now on Amazon.
