Tonight marked the first show of the “Akoustics” series at Angels & Kings in the East Village. Every Monday, the bar will feature great acoustic sets by upcoming artists.
The show presented by No One You Know Productions and FrendsorEnemies.com featured Vinnie Caruana of I am the Avalanche and a special performance by Brendan Urie of Panic! At the Disco.
I’ve been going to these acoustic shows since November and they just keep getting better and better. We had arrived a little late, but we caught a few of the last performances of the night. Saw a great rock-based acoustic set by Man Overboard and was moved by the beautiful vocals of The Scenic.
We were excited by Brendan Urie’s short but memorable set, and most impressed by I Am The Avalanche’s, Vinnie Caruana. Caruana has been a staple at the “Acoustic Chaos” events running throughout the past year. His powerhouse voice and local following brought out the crowd. It was awesome to see everyone enjoying the performance.
Co-owner Pete Wentz came to the front of the stage to watch the band play and I also spotted Mark Hoppus in the crowd which was pretty cool.
These shows are not to be missed for some great acoustic music. Check back here to find out more about the upcoming events!
You forgot to mention Mark Hoppus was a special guest there as well. ;P
