I grew up not enjoying music nor understood why people loved it so much until my senior year of high school. Blink 182’s music is what busted my music bubble and opened me up. Since then I listened to Green Day, Avril Lavigne, Aerosmith, Catch 22, Paramore, Beatles, Fall Out Boy, Kings of Leon, Neon Trees and many more bands. Now one of my favorite pastimes is going to concerts and checking out new music.

jlopes

A music connoisseur, I’ve pretty much sipped and tasted every glass I could…but I’m still thirsty. Hailing from the fist pumping capitol, I take pride in straying away from the poof’s and HGH to venture out for more expressive and creative outlets to quench my thirst. Ever since I heard Pink Floyd and ZZ Top on vinyl when I was a kid from my father’s vintage record player, I’ve been hooked on listening to music. Then, when I picked up his 75′ Les Paul, I made it a mission to learn to play music. Eventually, he dropped me off at my first concert at Birch Hill, and I soon became engrossed in live music. Since then, I could not find a better hobby that enthralls me as much as music does.

Joy

They say I embrace diversity. It’s only natural, being born and raised in Shanghai, then grew up in Washington Heights. They say I’m a jet-setter. I want to see the world, to meet different new people with all kinds of backgrounds and cultures. They say I’m artsy-fartsy. Everything around me continues to strengthen my passion and appreciation for the arts. They call me JZ. As my life experiences shape and define who I am as a person, music helps me to color my world as well as everything around me.

justine

Journalism major with a minor in music at Rutgers University. I have always known that I wanted to be a writer and have loved music for as long as I can remember. So why not combine my two loves. I listen to all types of music from pop punk, indie, techno, rap. If it has a good beat or lyrics I can relate too, I’m gunna love it.

russell

I’m just this guy… you know?
