Written in January 2020 as a reflection of how Marina was feeling she stated on Twitter in December 2020 that she no longer felt that way. She said, “The weird thing is.. I wrote “happy loner” in Jan 2020. And now I can’t relate to it anymore 😂 but that’s the great thing about music. It can have a transformative quality. I’ve changed my life many times just by writing or listening to a song and acknowledging a problem.”
