Today’s song is “Take My Hand” by Night Lights. The Los Angles based group is made up of Mau Jimenez (vocals/guitar), Yusuke Sato (guitar), Jeff Kinsey (bass), and Dag Hanken (drums). The guys came together in 2012 while attending school in Boston.
Hailing from all parts of the world (Mexico, Japan, California, and Norway), this band brings together their own influence of genres like indie, rock, and soul to create a truly international and unique flair for music.
Night Lights released their debut EP, Here We Come, in July of 2014, which features singles such as “Make Me Smile” and “Hit the Water.” The release earned them performances with Culture Collide, Sofar Sounds, Radio 92.9, and WTBU as well as features with Allston Pudding, Buzznet and Sounds of Boston.
“Take My Hand” is Night Lights’ first new single of a stream of songs for the new year. It recently premiered on
The band is excited to share their music. Jimenez explains, “These songs are the culmination of all the sweat, heartache, joy, fear, and love we’ve experienced these past couple of years and we are so excited to share all of that with you. The heart of who we are is in every single song and we hope that it resonates with your life experience, or at the very least with your dance skills.”
Their upbeat and bodacious melodies will hit home for fans of Walk The Moon, Mutemath, and Two Door Cinema Club. If this is a taste of what is to come in the next few months I cannot wait to hear more.
