Van Norden is a songwriter, producer, and hyperactive serial collaborator, working with a variety of songwriters and musicians as well as filmmakers and media artists. His creative process is often random and chaotic as he ignores genre boundaries and focuses on the song as the foundation for a multi-media experience.
Van Norden comes to the EDM/Alternative genre from the opposite end of the musical spectrum; the world of acoustic folk. Van Norden is the primary songwriter and the guitarist-vocalist for the LA-based country roots band SPINdriftr and is a frequent collaborator with acoustic artists across Canada and in the Los Angeles area.
This is the latest single from the Vancouver native and features singer Natalie Major. Van Norden knows how to create a winning track. Within the opening seconds of the song, the listener is instantly drawn in by the bouncing beats and its popping EDM electronica. The big vocals and chorus make for a kicking track.
Van Norden is currently working on a drastic remix of the song with LA-based DJ/producer An_Hero, as well as an accompanying music video that explores the darker side of ‘love at first sight. Forthcoming EP’s will feature several EDM and alternative tracks which incorporate acoustic elements and live recordings to augment the digital music.
