Latimer House consists of Joe Cook (guitar/vocals), Anar Yuufov (keyboards/backing vocals), Jiri (George) Kominek (drums/percussion), and Michael Jetton (bass).
Prague is the adoptive home of Latimer House, whose foundations were laid in 2010 when drummer and percussionist Jiří (George) Kominek (from Toronto) and guitarist Joe Cook (London) booked a rehearsal room to jam song ideas. Keyboard player Anar Yusufov (Baku) joined later that year and in early 2011 bassist Michael Jetton (Virginia) moved in to help nail it all together.
Joe, Jiří, Anar and Michael like a wide range of music, from classic 1960s and 1970s pop and rock, through funk, folk and New Wave, to obscure experimental rock, jazz and contemporary alternative sounds. All four have played in various bands down the years, with Jiří and Anar still busy with musical projects aside from Latimer House. Their different backgrounds and interests all come through in their music, although Joe’s vocals give the song an English, Brit rock flair.
In May 2012 they went into Prague’s Faust Studios for the first of several sessions with engineer Derek Saxenmeyer to record their collection of songs, ten of which were selected for the album All The Rage. This video is the first single off the album which was released earlier this year on the band’s own label Honk Records.
The band also recently released the tracks “Birdcage Walk” and “Until Then.” These singles came out digitally July 7th, and a 7″ pressed in red translucent vinyl will available August 11th from the Honk Records shop. They can also be streamed on the band’s Soundcloud page.
Latimer House will be heading into the studio July 30 – August 2 to begin recording new material for their next full-length due in 2015.
