Invisible Children is a non-profit organization working to transform apathy into activism, by telling the stories of war-affected children in east Africa. Through their extensive media and advocacy campaigns, Invisible Children inspire and motivate young people into action to end the suffering of children in Northern Uganda.

CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival is ideally positioned to increase social awareness among 120,000 music fans and CMJ attendees during the festival, running from October 19 – 23. Joanne Abbot Green, Executive Producer and Founder of CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival says, “We are proud to leverage attendance at CMJ into the ability to raise awareness for Invisible Children and the important work they have undertaken. We encourage all CMJ musicians, registrants and attendees to get involved in helping their cause.”

Over the past four years, Invisible Children have embarked on over 20 tours with a variety of artists, allowing them to share their message with music lovers all over the USA. In addition to their work with musicians, each spring and fall, over 50 volunteers set out on tour to screen Invisible Children’s latest media. These screenings reach close to a million young adults each year at high schools and colleges across North America.

Kenny Laubbacher from Invisible Children says, “It’s an amazing privilege to work alongside CMJ and some of the world’s most creative musicians toward raising awareness for these kids in Uganda and Central East Africa. This is going to be a phenomenal year.”
