Big Picture Media will be hosting their 2nd Official CMJ Showcase on October 19th at The Bowery Poetry Club featuring To Write Love On Her Arms. The showcase will also feature special performances by Cute Is What We Aim For, The Bigger Lights, The Narrative, Loomis and The Lust, Jackson Wetherbee Band and Cyndi Harvell. Come out for one of the best line-ups during CMJ this year! Badge entry is free and $10 for non-badge holders. The show is all-ages and starts at 10pm!
Below is a snapshot on each band performing:
Shaant Hacikyan, the founding member of Cute Is What We Aim For For has come full circle and is in a better place than ever before. The band is currently on tour and stopping off at CMJ for this one-night only NYC performance.
The Bigger Lights have one rule and one rule only – the music always comes first. On The Bigger Lights, vocalist Topher Talley, guitarists John Kendall Royston and Chris McPeters, bassist Dan Mineart, and drummer Ryan Seaman have written and captured a memorable collection of radio- ready pop/rock anthems. Their current self-titled album is in stores now.
The Narrative, comprised of New York natives Jesse Gabriel (guitar/vocals), Suzie Zeldin (keyboard/vocals) and Charles Seich (drums), released their highly anticipated debut self-titled album on July 27th. The group’s latest effort maintains a diversity that most bands struggle to achieve while remaining harmonious with the sound they are known and loved for.
The world could use a little California sunshine, and Loomis and The Lust is just the band to bring it. The sunny Santa Barbara based quartet released their sophomore EP, Space Camp on August 10th. Space Camp is fused with dance rock riffs and sun-soaked melodies for a sound that is as upbeat as it is unforgettable.
Jackson Wetherbee Band is a musician born and bred in the South Shore area, a sleepy beach town region just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Wetherbee has been honing his craft as an acoustic guitarist and singer/songwriter since leaving college for the coffee shops and bars of the Boston suburbs nearly four years ago. Jackson just released his debut album on Flying Carpet records.
Last but not least is Cyndi Harvell who is to release her new album, From The Echo, on October 12th via Fortune Records. The charming southern lilt in Harvell’s voice immediately draws you into her world and persuades you to look for the mystery within. Matched with her guitarist, John Howland’s, brilliance of weissenborn-style lap steel á la Ben Harper, the songs range from moody, dub-esque, acoustic to upbeat catchy pop that you do not want to miss out on!
