Music to Get You Off Your A.S.S.

Shows for the Week

Saturday August 7th:
103.5 KTU Beatstock at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ at 3:00 p.m.
NY/NJ based radio station KTU offers a little clubbier music than its competitor Z100 and because of it puts on a great show every summer with this one sure to be no different.
O.A.R. at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY at 8:00 p.m.
If there’s one thing O.A.R. is good at it’s putting out anthems, ESPN and ABC are just a couple channels that have used the band’s songs for shows and specials.
Sunday August 8th:
John Mayer at the Saratoga Performing Art Center in Saratoga Springs, NY at 7:00 p.m.
While I’ll be the first to admit that I really hate John Mayer, I’ll also be man enough so say that as a live artist he’s one of the best acts going right now.
Empire of the Sun at Terminal 5 in New York, NY at 8:00 p.m.
Bringing their trippy lyrics to downtown New York, Empire of the Sun will bring quality music, or at least a really interesting crowd of listeners.

Songs for the Week

Jeezy feat. Lil’ Jon – “Jizzle”
Lil’ Jon slowly tries to make his way back to relevancy by hopping on a song with one of hip-hops top artists and sadly brings them both down with a really generic, listen and forget song.
The Limousines – “Internet Killed the Video Star”
Coming off of their first single, “Very Busy People”, the still unsigned Limousines are back with their own modern take on the Buggles classic.
Bush – “Afterlife”
Gavin Rossdale finds his rightful place in the alt-rock world with his new bands soon to be new hit single.
Christina Perri – “Jar of Hearts”
Perri brings her deep vocals to this haunting track that will be playing in your head or iPod for days, even if you don’t necessarily want it to be.

Albums for the Week

3OH!3 – “Streets of Gold”
MGMT cover band 3OH!3 continues to make over the top songs about hooking up with “hot chicks” with electronic sounds in the background.
Kelis – “Flesh Tone”
Kelis is back without Nas on her newest album, and somehow that not a bad thing. Her tough girl lyrics remain and are just tame enough to make them believable.
Kenny G – “Heart and Soul”
There may be nothing more soothing than the sounds of Kenny G and his flute; also, girls always think a guy is sophisticated if they know who he is.
School of Seven Bells – “Disconnect From Desire”
School of Seven Bells finds a way to do cool without seeming like they’re trying too hard as lead singer Alejandra Deheza makes Hayley Williams sound more like Hannah Montana.
