The MuseBox is turning a whopping 4 years old this June and we’re celebrating by putting on a mega bash on June 2nd at Glasslands in Brooklyn. The party will feature a spate of analog-synthesizing heaviness with a headlining performance by electronic artist Tobacco (of Black Moth Super Rainbow) whose latest album Maniac Meat drops May 25th on Anticon and includes guest appearances by Beck. Other acts for the evening include disco-shoegazers Soundpool, avant-pop duo Sunglasses, and dance party starters Telephoned.
Pabst Blue Ribbon beer will also on board to provide some highly refrigerated, complimentary beer from 8:30 to 9:30pm. Punctuality has never seemed so obvious. Doors at 8:30pm.

Information on artists:
** TOBACCO is the mastermind behind Pittsburgh psych-weirdos Black Moth Super Rainbow, but his focus is now set entirely on Maniac Meat, an album made of equal parts analog crunch, earthy psychedelia, fuzzed-up hip-hop, and outside pop. Not a hip-hop record, per se – just something that parties like one. Beck is the record’s lone guest, alternately sparring and coasting with Tobacco’s well-known arsenal of vintage synthesizers, noise boxes and voice modulators.

** SOUNDPOOL is the disco-shoegazer NYC ensemble that fuses ethereal vocals, spacey lush synths, a wall of guitars sounds with funky bass lines, disco beats and psychedelic visuals. Their latest record Mirrors In Your Eyes is a euphoric delight that was released on the Killer Pimp label (of A Place To Bury Strangers’ fame) and was applauded by the likes of Pitchfork, The Deli Mag, GBH, and Losing Today.

** SUNGLASSES is an avant-pop group from Savannah, GA made up of 8000 bam bam and Baby Seal. Their self-titled EP drops June 15th on Lefse Records. While still a new band, Sunglasses have already garnered the attention of Vice, Stereogum, Pitchfork, and The Fader. Check out their colorfully explosive music video for “Whiplash” here

** TELEPHONED is dance-pop duo from Brooklyn made up of DJ/producer Sammy Bananas (Fool’s Gold) and singer/party starter Maggie Horn (Good Peoples) that have earned early praise from the likes of Pitchfork, RCRD LBL, and YRB Magazine for their pseudo-covers and reworkings of orginal beats into hypnotic club tracks.
