Rocking Under the Radar: Cage the Elephant

Band: Cage the Elephant

Where Are They From? Bowling Green, Kentucky

When Did They Start? 2005

Who Are They? Cage the Elephant released their eponymous debut album in 2008, after signing a recording contract with EMI and moving to England. Since then, the band has started to take off with successful singles on both sides of the pond, one of which (“Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked”) was recently featured on national television in ads for the “Borderlands” video game.

Why Should You Care? Because Cage the Elephant crafts their own unique sound off of a solid blues-rock foundation. Their first album is full of catchy-yet-witty songs that have a tendency to stick with the listener long after the album is done spinning.
