It was just another Monday night in NYC. My coworker and I decided it was a good time to work on our holiday shopping so we decided to go to Macy’s in midtown. Right outside the store was a huge crowd watching the rehearsal for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. 34th street between 7th and 8th is decorated for the big day and in the center of the crowd were the performers doing a run through of their performances.
We went inside Macy’s and as we were walking around we noticed that all the exits were blocked for the parade. We stopped at one deciding which way to go and to our suprise we saw the band Boys Like Girls not even 5 feet away from us. They turned smiled and then were guided through the store by what looked like a parade employee while being videotapped by a manager or friend all the same time. It was a fast moment, but great all the same. Look out for them on the HESS float tomorrow on NBC. The parade starts at 9am. can’t wait to tune in!
Some other performers in the parade include: Bello, Andrea Bocelli, Keke Palmer, Grandma and the cast of the Big Apple Circus, the cast of Hair, DJ Lance Rock and the cast of Yo Gabba Gabba!, Kermit the Frog and Tiffany Thornton, the cast and Muppets of Sesame Street, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, cast of Billy Elliot, Sarah Hughes, Jane Krakowski, cast of Bye Bye Birdie, Ziggy Marley with Judah Marley, Miss America 2009 – Katie Stam, the Radio City Rockettes, Katharine McPhee, Mitchel Musso, The Pizzarelli Quartet, cast of Shrek, and Jay Sean.
